Formed by Baron Zemo as a new Masters of Evil, the Thunderbolts were originally villains adopting heroic identities for access to public resources. Most chose to give up their lives of crime and reform.
Red Skull’s Fate
In his final confrontation with Captain America at the end of The First Avenger, Red Skull was sucked into a portal that formed after he touched the Tesseract. As punishment for his misuse of the Space Stone, he was cursed to drift around Vormir for seven decades as a wraith.
John Walker as a Super Soldier
As Morgenthau fled, Walker found the sole remaining vial and later injected himself with it, becoming a super soldier.
Captain America’s Black Suit
The US Agent costume being black is a visual representation of what his role will be in the future of the MCU. In the comics, Walker also became US Agent after proving to be unworthy of the Captain America title, but his death was faked and his memory altered so he could re-emerge as US Agent.
Isaiah Bradley’s Longevity
Longevity: Due to the Super Soldier Serum, Bradley ages much slower than the normal human, a trait he shares with fellow super soldiers Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.
John Walker’s Transformation
He becomes the new Captain America and is portrayed by Wyatt Russell. The Blip saw the return of half of all life after five years, sending the world into turmoil. The United States government chose John Walker to become the new Captain America, believing him to be the embodiment of America’s greatest values and an inspiration for everyone.
