How you been meaning?

Greetings and Questions in English

  • "How have you been?"
  • Differences in Asking about Past Locations
  • Use of "been" vs "gone"

"How have you been?" is a common question asked by people who speak native English. It’s asking what you have done and how life has been for you since a certain point. Since the last time you saw each other, you may be asked how you’ve been doing. "Where were you?" is for a specific point in the past. "I’ve been gone" significa che hai lasciato e sei ancora lontano. Non sei tornato. "I was gone" significa che sei andato via, sei stato fuori per un po’, ma poi sei tornato. "Have you been here before?" è quello che desideri." Only if someone told you about an event in the past and you were asking about it a long time ago, you could use the version with had: C: Quando sono stato in England nel 2016, il tema dominante era Brexit. The past participle of the verb "to go" can be either "been" or "gone". When you talk about a location that you have visited in the past, use the expression "I have been to… (place)."
