TikTok Ban in India
TikTok, along with 58 other Chinese-created apps, was banned completely in India by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on 29 June 2020, with a statement saying they were "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order".
Payment for TikTokers
Although TikTokers don’t actually get paid per like, influencers can get better brand deals if they have high engagement. To make money, TikTok creators need good engagement on their videos through likes and comments.
Diamond Currency on TikTok
Diamonds are a form of in-app currency in TikTok that helps you redeem them for real-world currency. Each diamond on TikTok is worth 5 cents, which means that 100 diamonds will give you $50.
TikTok Origins
TikTok was previously Musical.ly, where people would upload lip-synch videos. In 2018, a Chinese tech company, ByteDance, acquired Musical.ly and merged it with its own lip-synching app, known as Douyin. The result was TikTok.
Clearing Data on TikTok
When you clear cache on TikTok, the data of videos that you’ve watched before will be deleted. You may be logged out of the app as well, so you need to log in to it again. Cached data are not important, so you don’t have to worry about clearing them.
