Why brandy is not popular?

Brandy Production and Quality

It takes years to go from harsh to mellow and complex. That’s expensive and you’re not making money while your stock is aging, unless you’re also producing wine, or some other spirit. So really good brandy costs a lot of money and, as someone else here mentioned, second-rate brandy is not worth drinking.

Health Effects of Brandy

But when consumed in greater quantities, brandy has side effects which include changes in the central nervous system, as well as a rapid drop in blood sugar, known as hypoglycemia. Brandy can also adversely affect normal functioning of the liver and kidneys, as well as smooth functioning of the heart.

Composition and Taste of Brandy

A single serving of brandy is considered to be a 1.5-ounce shot (also called a jigger). There are no carbs in a shot of brandy, no sugar, and no fiber. The taste of brandy varies depending on the fruit it is made from and its age, but generally they are sweeter than whiskey and taste of flowers, fresh and dried fruit, and citrus zest. Brandy must be aged in barrels and has different age designations for each level of quality.
