Usare Linux è il modo migliore per scaricare torrenti ed evitare virus?

Per evitare i virus:

• Esegui chrome o Firefox.
• Se un sito ti chiede di installare un plugin, non farlo.
• Se un sito ti chiede di installare un antivirus, non farlo
• Se un sito ti chiede di installare un visualizzatore video, non farlo
• Se un sito scansiona la tua macchina e afferma che c'è un numero di vulnerabilità e che c'è una soluzione, se si installa... non
• Se trovate un binario a caso in un torrent, non eseguitelo.
• Se c'è un incredibile client di streaming che trasmette istantaneamente ogni film popolare... non installatelo.
• Un sito a caso offre un nuovo desktop dock, non farlo
• Un sito a caso offre firefox come download, non farlo
• Un sito trova un problema con il tuo firewall/antivirus e offre una soluzione se installi qualcosa, non farlo.
• Never type in any password, especially the admin password because a website asks you to.
• Never "upgrade", downgrade, or enable flash.
• If a site redirects you to an app store, don't install that app.

Do:

• Patch regularly
• Download binaries only from trusted sites. Like say firefox from the firefox website, google chrome from google, etc.

The above recommendation is for any OS. Sure linux is less popular, so less likely to be specifically targeted. With that said, an unsafe plugin for firefox or chrome, might well work on linux just like with windows.
