How is an Enneagram 4W3 different to a 4W5?

From what I’ve read, a 4w3 is a bit more extroverted than the 4w5. Not that 4w3s are automatically Extroverts, but they can appear a little more out-going.

It’s based on the influence of the Wings.

Type 3 is known as “The Achiever” and “The Performer”.

Type 5 is known as “The Thinker” and “The Observer”.

Type 4 is known as “The Individualist” and “The Romantic”.

So this can create a blend of:

4w3 - Individualist Achiever or Romantic Performer

4w5 - Individualist Thinker or Romantic Observer

Even from those quick combinations, the 4w3 sounds more extroverted.

Basic Type 4 traits:

• Expressive with their feelings
• Artistic
• Passionate about self-expression
• Strong sense of self-identity
• Intuitive
• Searching for meaning

Basic Type 3 traits:

• Confident
• Competitive
• Seeks validation
• Extremely busy, always scheduling
• Charismatic
• Great conversationalists

Basic Type 5 traits:

• Knowledge seekers
• Observant
• Remains calm in a crisis
• Usually Introverted
• Thinks extensively before speaking
• Values independence

So, from the above lists, you can see the obvious differences between Type 3 and Type 5.

A Type 4 with a 3 wing has charismatic confidence as part of their personality.

While a Type 4 with a 5 wing is more of an inward thinker.

I’ve seen 4w3s referred to as “emotionally spicy”. ? They want to be seen as elegant and successful, hoping to expose themselves to the world. ?

4w5s want to remain true to who they are and have the ability to connect to themselves. A loro piace vivere nella loro testa e possono essere riservati.

Il 4w5 di solito non è scritto così favorevolmente come il 4w3, probabilmente perché l'ala 3 dà al 4 quel tanto di estroverso che lo aiuta ad inserirsi nella società. Mentre la 5 ala aggiunge una grande dose di Introverso ad un tipo che già guarda all'interno.
