Can the PS5 shortage last for the console's whole lifespan?

On average, the console’s lifespan in terms of it being the latest device the company before the next device had been released is generally 5 to 7 years. See the list down below.

Xbox 360 = 2005 (4 years, which is shorter than the average release gaps, but not without its repercussions being the RROD)

Now here’s the thing, considering that the primary reasons why there’s a shortage is because of the pandemic temporarily shutting down businesses on hopes to limit the spread of the virus.
