Does the iPhone 6 support Jio VoLTE?

After helping my brothers on android VOLTE support questions I think It’s time to help our buddies on iOS.

Reliance Jio has not acted friendly to Apple users since the day it has entered the market.

In the beginning, there were no preview codes available for Apple iPhones and it continued till Jio has officially announced.

Now when Apple users can redeem the codes for a new Jio SIM, there is a confusion among many users about which phones are supported.

Here is the list of iPhones which are VoLTE supported —

Almost every iPhone after the iPhone 5 has hardware support for VoLTE but Apple has restricted the baseband due to unexplained reasons. So the iPhones with VoLTE support include:

• iPhone 6
• iPhone 6 Plus
• iPhone 6s
• iPhone 6s Plus
• iPhone SE
• iPhone 7
• iPhone 7 Plus
• iPhone 8
• iPhone X

As far as iPhone 5s is concerned, it comes with Qualcomm MDM9615M chip, and it has support for VoLTE as listed on Qualcomm’s official website. But Apple has not included it in any of his iOS updates yet.

To configure Reliance Jio VoLTE enabled SIM on your iPhone here is what you can do —

• Insert Jio SIM in your iPhone.
• You will see a pop up asking for “Carrier Settings Update”.
• Update the existing network settings.
  • Click on update.
• The next step is to activate WiFi calling option —
  • • Go to Setting >
    • Phone >
    • Wi-Fi Calling and turn on the switch.

• Puoi anche installare l'app Jio4GVoice dall'app store.
• Con l'app Jio4GVoice sarai in grado di effettuare chiamate anche su telefoni non supportati da VOLTE.
• Si prega di notare che con l'app Jio4GVoice dovrai mantenere i tuoi dati mobili abilitati.
