How to Check Windows Firewall Settings
Launch Windows Security on your PC.
Go to Firewall & network protection.
Click Allow an app or feature through Firewall.
View the list of allowed and blocked programs by Windows Firewall.
Turning On Microsoft Defender Antivirus
To turn on Microsoft Defender Antivirus in Windows Security:
- Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
- Select Manage settings (or Virus & threat protection settings in early versions of Windows 10).
- Switch Real-time protection to On.
Managing Windows Defender
To manage Windows Defender settings:
- Open the Windows Defender app in Control Panel.
- Disable Real-time Protection in the Settings.
- This prevents it from running in the background.
