What are some addicting games that you know?

The root of addiction depends on what gives you pleasure. Almost all games can be addicting, even stupid ones like “52-pick-up”.

Here are some that I find addicting:

Intensive Online Video games :

• Counter Strike (1.4 , 1.6, Source, GO)
• Battlefield 1 or any other Battlefield
• Arma 2 and 3
• Left 4 Dead 1/2
• League of Legends / Dota 2
• Starcraft 1/2
• Age of Empires series
• Sins of a Solar Empire
• As much as I hate to say the words….Call of Duty multiplayer

These games are addicting because they combine intense actions, whether it be strategy or skill-heavy with teamwork, both of which are addicting. It is fun to play a game you like online with friends.

Casual Online Games:

• Online chess and other board games
• Online flash games
• World of Warcraft, and other MMORPGs

Same as the above, but leaning more heavily towards the social interaction side.

Intense Story Driven Games:

• Episodic format games, such as those made by Telltale Games (The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, etc)
• Horror Games, like Alien Isolation, Resident Evil 7, etc.
• Story based games, like Nier: Automata, The Great War, Ladykiller in a Bind, etc.

These games have an addiction template similar to TV-shows— you want to know what happens next.

Traditionally addicting games:

• Tetris, Frogger, Street Fighter, Contra and other purely skill-related games
• Online gambling
