Qual è meglio: Brilliant o Khan Academy?

Poiché uso sia Brilliant Premium che Khan Academy, ecco la mia recensione dei due siti:

Brilliant Premium:

Brilliant è un sito educativo "Freemium" (allarme portmanteau) fondato nel 2012. Ci sono due modi in cui è possibile utilizzare il sito web (da qui il portmanteau "freemium"):

• Brilliant - la versione gratuita
• Brilliant Premium - Una versione a pagamento in abbonamento (in cui si è tenuti a pagare $24.99 USD al mese o 119,88 USD all'anno.

Per questa recensione, userò Brilliant Premium, quindi entriamo subito nel merito:

Non ci sono altre parole per definirlo, è assolutamente "Brillante" (gioco di parole assolutamente non voluto). In all seriousness, Brilliant Premium gives you a wide variety of in-depth courses, each one challenging your brain and making you use problem solving skills and further developing and nurturing your prowess in science, mathematics and computer science.

You can still use Brilliant for free, but it doesn’t offer you as many courses as Brilliant Premium does. Brilliant Premium is a fun, productive learning experience which will definitely push you to improve.

As you can see, Brilliant Premium has a huge range of detailed courses for each of these three subjects. Now we shall summarise Brilliant with Pros and Cons.

Pros:

• Wide variety of in-depth courses for maths and science
• It will test your brain
• Good preparation for mathematics competitions (if you’re in any)

Cons:

• You will have to subscribe to get the full course content

Now, let’s take a look at Khan Academy:

Khan Academy:

Khan Academy is a free community education website founded by Sal Khan in 2009. Khan Academy offers free and fun and challenging topics which require dedication to fully complete. Poiché Sal crede nell'insegnamento per la padronanza, se hai già padronanza di un argomento (per esempio "Quadratica in forma di vertice") se continui a sbagliare le domande in un secondo momento, potresti perdere la padronanza di quell'argomento.

Khan Academy genera anche domande diverse ogni volta che vai in una sessione di pratica per un argomento o una sfida di padronanza (se stai facendo un argomento di matematica).

Tuttavia, le caratteristiche degli argomenti di matematica e di altri argomenti (scienza, informatica, scienze umane, economia e finanza) sono diverse. Le materie di matematica hanno esercizi pratici e sfide di padronanza, ma il contenuto per le altre materie è limitato a risorse di apprendimento simili a un corso (per ora).

C'è un'eccezione però, perché "Statistica e probabilità", "AP Calculus AB", "AP Calculus BC", "Multivariable Calculus", "Differential Equations" & "Linear Algebra" sono argomenti nella materia della matematica, ma sono formattati in modo simile a un corso e non hanno sfide di padronanza.

Another thing to note is that Khan Academy is built on the foundation that is the videos that Sal Khan and other contributors have made (at a later date), and therefore boasts a wealth of video content that you can watch, from “The Business Cycle” to “Linear Equations Word Problems”. I highly recommend watching Khan Academy videos if you haven’t already.

So evidently, Khan Academy has more subject options than Brilliant. And now let’s get into the Pros and Cons of Khan Academy:

Pros:

• Wide range of subjects to learn
• Mastery Challenge and ever-changing questions for maths
• Very good video content

Cons:

• Richiede tempo
• I corsi non sono troppo approfonditi

Un confronto tra i due:

In termini di corsi, Khan Academy ha una gamma più ampia di argomenti, ma Brilliant fornisce corsi più approfonditi di matematica e scienze. Khan Academy ha dei buoni video per compensare questo però.

O onestamente dipende da cosa vuoi concentrarti, se preferisci le scienze alle arti, allora usa Brilliant Premium. Se non sei pronto per l'abbonamento, comunque, attieniti a Brilliant e Khan Academy gratuiti e usa qualche altra risorsa da internet.

La mia opinione:

Penso che, personalmente, Brilliant Premium sia meglio per me perché si concentra di più sulla matematica e le scienze, e mi aiuterà a progredire ulteriormente. Uso comunque Khan Academy, e ti consiglio vivamente di usare sia Brilliant Premium che Khan Academy (se puoi).
