What teams have beaten the USA in men's basketball since 1960?

• Brazil (5)

• Greece (1)
• Italy (2)
• Lithuania (1)
• Puerto Rico (1)
• Russia (1)
• USSR (5; 4 since 1960)
• Serbia (1; 2019)
• Spain (2)
• Yugoslavia (6)

And the US has also lost 5 times in Olympic play, to the following teams:

• Argentina (1)
• Lithuania (1)
• Puerto Rico (1)
• USSR (2)

The losses to Argentina, Lithuania, and Puerto Rico all happened in 2004. The losses the the USSR were in 1972 and 1988.

And the US has lost 10 times in the FIBA Americas Championship/World Championship Qualifier, to the following teams:

• Argentina (1)
• Brazil (2)
• Canada (1)
• Dominican Republic (1)
• Puerto Rico (2)
• Venezuela (3)

Six of those losses occurred in 2005.

Finally, the US team also lost an exhibition game to Italy in 2004.

UPDATE: Australia beat the US in an exhibition on August 24th, 2019, breaking a streak of 78 consecutive victories by the US men’s team.

All told, teams from 15 countries have beaten the US men's basketball teams since 1960. This number would be much smaller if it wasn't for the team's poor performance from 2002-2006, when most of the best US players did not participate.
