How to root my Moto G3 running in Android 6.0.1 marshmallow

To root moto g3 first you have to unlock Bootloader

Unlock bootloader on moto G3

Tools

• Motorola USB drivers
• Fast boot

Please Note, I does not take any responsibility of you Android device. Even though this method is tested seeand it works, still it may not work for everyone.

Procedure

1. Backup all your data.

• Switch off the Moto G 3rd Gen.

Now Hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time for a few seconds till you see a black screen like this

1. Now plug your Moto G3 to your PC
2. Open Mfastboot Folder. Now in the window hold the shift key and right-click. Now navigate to Open Command Window Right here. Cliccare.
3. Ora nella finestra del prompt dei comandi, incollare il codice che vedete qui sotto e premere invio.
   fastboot oem get_unlock_data

Vedrete un mucchio di testo nella riga successiva, cliccare con il tasto destro e copiarlo.

1. Ora andate sul sito Motorola. Crea un ID o effettua il login.

Incolla il testo che hai copiato al primo posto e clicca su Can this phone be Unlocked

1. Ora clicca su Request Unlock code, in pochi minuti dovresti ricevere una mail con un codice simile al precedente. Copialo.
2. Ora torna alla finestra del prompt dei comandi.
3. Scrivi il testo riportato qui sotto
   fastboot OEM unlock

Ora premi Spazio e incolla il codice che hai copiato dalla mail che hai ricevuto. Premi Invio

Voila! Hai appena sbloccato il bootloader del tuo dispositivo! Scroll down to know how you can root your device.

Root Moto G3

Tools

• SuperSu (Updated for Marshmallow) [Beta]
• SuperSu (For Lollipop)
• TWRP

Procedure

1. Copy SuperSU zip to your Internal memory on Moto G3.
2. Switch off your phone and boot into your bootloader mode by simply pressing the power and volume-down button at the same time.(Same way you did for unlocking the bootloader)
3. Connect the phone with your PC.
4. Rename the TWRP file you downloaded to “recovery.img”
5. Now you will find folder, named “mFastBoot“, copy the TWRP file that is recovery.img there.
6. Now navigate to mFastboot folder on your PC which you downloaded earlier.
7. Right click while holding shift key and click on “Open Command window here”.
8. Paste this code in the command prompt and press enter.
   fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
9. Now you can remove the phone from PC.
10. Now select recovery in the bootloader.
11. Select ” Install from SD card”
12. Now browse the superSu zip you added in the internal memory(Step 1)
13. Select Yes to install it.
14. Now let it install. Once installed, Quit the bootloader by pressing Restart.
15. Congrats, You have successfully Rooted you Moto G3 on Marshmallow!
