Mac Intel vs. ARM: Qual è la differenza e quale dovresti comprare?

Se il confronto è tra Mac, e visti i Mac disponibili al momento in cui scriviamo, è ovvio che i Mac ARM sono migliori.

Pro dei Mac ARM :

1. Migliore durata della batteria: Quando le aziende dichiarano 10 ore di batteria, la macchina ne fornisce 6-7. Ora che le dichiarazioni sono più alte, anche se le 18 o 20 ore non vengono raggiunte, una durata effettiva della batteria di 12-15 ore è comunque un grande miglioramento rispetto alla generazione precedente.
2. Prestazioni migliori : Questi Mac ARM sono migliori nelle prestazioni rispetto al precedente modello intel che sostituiscono. Infatti, la linea di base per il confronto nella presentazione erano proprio questi Mac :
   1. MBA13" 16GB/2TB i7-1060NG7
   2. MBP13" 16GB/2TB i7-8557U
   3. Mac Mini 16GB/2TB i7-7700B
3. iPad e iPhone apps possono ora girare nativamente. Ie you can play your favourite iOS games on Macs.

Cons of ARM :

1. No more bootcamp for running windows on Macs.
   1. You can use VMs like Parallels though.
   2. Windows On ARM has very bad optimisation, and that’s probably the reason behind lack of support. Hopefully Microsoft fixes this soon.
2. Less likely to run software from internet like steam, third party IDEs (likely to increase with time but you can’t be sure when the apps you need will become compatible.
   1. Adobe and Microsoft apps do work though, since apple collaborated with them beforehand.
   2. So do some games like Shadow of Tomb Raider and DiRT Rally.
3. No eGPU support
4. Limited ports (2 vs 4 on other MacBooks)

That being said, you’d know which is better for your use, but from a neutral perspective, the performance and battery life, both are better on ARM models. E dato che si paga il prezzo dei modelli base dei modelli precedenti, eppure si ottengono prestazioni 2x-3x migliori delle versioni di fascia alta dei modelli precedenti (che ovviamente sono state vendute al dettaglio ad un prezzo superiore a quello degli attuali Mac ARM), è una facile vittoria per ARM, a meno che nessuna delle vostre applicazioni funzioni su ARM.
